Zimbabweans maintain cultural connections abroad through: church communities (often conducting services in Shona/Ndebele), Zimbabwean shops and restaurants selling familiar foods (sadza, mazoe, maputi, biltong), social media groups and WhatsApp communities, cultural events and braais (barbecues), celebrating Independence Day (18 April), watching Warriors football matches online, listening to Zimbabwean music, naming children with Shona/Ndebele names, teaching children indigenous languages, and regular phone/video calls with family at home.
