Several UK visa categories are commonly used by Zimbabweans. Skilled Worker Visa: the most common work route, requiring a job offer from a licensed UK sponsor with a minimum salary threshold. Popular sectors include healthcare (nursing, care work), IT, and engineering. Student Visa: for those accepted onto a course at a licensed UK education provider — you can work limited hours during term time. Graduate Visa: available after completing a UK degree, allowing 2 years of unrestricted work (3 years for PhD graduates). Health and Care Worker Visa: a specific route for healthcare professionals with reduced fees and exemption from the Immigration Health Surcharge — very popular among Zimbabwean nurses and carers. Family Visa: for joining a spouse, partner, or parent who is a British citizen or has settled status. Visitor Visa: for tourism, family visits, or business meetings (up to 6 months, no work permitted). After 5 years on most work or family visas, you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), and after a further year, for British citizenship. Each visa has specific requirements — check gov.uk for the latest rules and fees, as immigration policies change frequently.
